The Town of Killingly is celebrating its Tercentennial (1708-2008) and plans for a parade are underway! The date is Saturday, May 31, 2008 and kickoff is 1:00 PM. The theme is "Costume Party," and we anticipate that each entry will offer something unique and exciting.

We welcome your involvement in this year's parade and hope to see your show of community spirit during the Town's Tercentennial Celebration Parade!

Tercentennial Parade, May 31, Killingly High School to Main St., Danielson Kick-off at 1:00PM

You can download the form now and return it to us at the Killingly Town Hall - thanks!

  • There is a float contest with 6 categories so use your imagination and be as creative as you can.
  • Music is also strongly encouraged - live or recorded - kept at appropriate levels.
  • Throwing of candy or novelties is strictly prohibited. Walkers may hand (not throw) candy to spectators
  • Entrants are expected to keep the staging area clean.
  • The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles long. Young children and elderly participants are encouraged to ride on a float rather than walk the entire route.
  • Entrants should assemble by 11:30 a.m. at the staging area, located at Killingly High School, 79 Westfield Avenue, Danielson, CT. The parade officially ends at the intersection of Main Street and Water Street.
  • Please submit your entry form and entry description by May 16th.
